Monson Tryon, 5-23-11

Just another day in paradise

Hola Tryon Fam!!!

Yes another sweet week in Argentina! The mission is just amazing! Elder Boyd and I must be the most blessed missionaries in the world! I can’t write about it all, but just know it’s awesome!

We had another baptism Saturday, Micaela a 9 year old girl. Her family had been less active for a long time and finally started coming back. They are so awesome. They live like outside the city on a farm. We went out there for our P-Day and another day during the week. We got to walk around the whole property and I just loved it!!! The family can’t really take care of it anymore because of being a single mom with 4 kids and the oldest is only 14. The mom’s brothers kinda take care of it. It reminded me of the farm in Missouri. Her brothers take care of some goats, sheep, and cows. But there is lots of unused space. My favorite part was the well. She told us it’s 30 feet deep but the water is only like 10 feet from ground level looking down inside. Anyways to pump the water you just pour like 20 gallons of waters down this pipe like a foot in diameter and then turn on the giant pump. The water comes out way fast! I guess there is so much water because they aren’t too far from the Río Negro.

We have been blessed with a ward mission leader too!!! He was called yesterday. He is a Hermano that has been helping us a ton already in the work. On Wednesday he and another Hermano took us to Cervantes (the little town in our area) and we did divisions and just taught like crazy all afternoon. It’s just going to be hard getting all the people out to church. So far only two investigators have come from out there and 1 less active member.

We are also teaching a world famous runner. He is actually the son of our new ward mission leader. He just got back from another race in the USA, he placed 2 out of 2000. He also did the Iron man. I’m not sure what the race was or what he placed in the iron man. I think he was in St. George Utah and Idaho Falls, so whatever races they do at those places. It was awesome because he got to go to temple grounds twice and had so many awesome experiences he has told about. Oh and also he bought an Ipad in the states and yesterday he was using at church to read the scriptures! It was so sweet!! Second time ever that I have seen one of those!

The biggest thing I am loving about the mission now would just have to be the fire that there is in this area! The members love us! At least I think so, I know I love them tons! We had 92 at church again this week. We have only had that many in church one other time, and that was two weeks ago. Everyone just seems to be working together and super happy!! Oh and the English class is still going great. We had 12 students this week and 11 the week before. Its way fun teaching!

Well love ya´ll. Thanks for everything!!!

Elder Tryon
