Monson Tryon, 5-30-11

Your baby boy!

Hola family

So this week was just another awesome week! Sorry I can’t send pictures. I don’t know what’s wrong. I think it’s my camera now.

We had seven investigators at church yesterday! So amazing! Remember when I used to complain because every week we would have like 1 or 0 or a lucky week 2. I think God really helps us achieve what we really strive to accomplish. Miracles baby! It means we are going to have lots of baptisms around the corner.

We have this one family that comes every week. It’s the one I told you about before that the dad won’t let the daughters get baptized. Well we have been really softening the dad and I think our prayers and fasts have really been helping because as of right now he has given permission and they have the goal for the 18th of June. We have had some pretty in depth bible battles with him. He is catholic and so are his parents who also influence his a lot.

Our other 3 focuses this week have been Ma and Pa, The Columbians, and the small town in our area. Ma and Pa are great! I would say Ma is doing more for the missionary work than all the members combined! haha she is amazing. She is just waiting to get baptized. She does smoke a little still though; she has gone from two packs to only 3 or 4 cigarettes a day. She talks to everyone about us and the church!!! She shares an amazing testimony too when we are teaching her friends. Also with Pa we have achieved a success. Missionaries have been passing by them for like 4 or 5 years now just because they always treat us so nice and with all that time Pa had never given up his cup of wine at lunch time. He has completely stopped this week. All we did was ask him if he believed Joseph Smith was a true prophet and then asked him if he would live the commandment God gave us through His prophet.

Our Columbian investigators our doing awesome. Fabian (the one that already got baptized) is an amazing member! The whole ward loves him! His cousin we are teaching is named Eric and his wife Natalia. They have been coming to church and reading the Book of Mormon. The bad thing is all of them have plans to move to Trelew which is in the south, it’s actually one of my old areas. Yesterday we taught them the law of chastity and how it’s important to get married. That should help the missionaries out in Trelew when they get there. After the lesson, they made us this Columbian food that was pretty good but pretty unhealthy. It gave my companion diarrhea. It was fried platanos (the giant bananas) with salsa.

The small Cervantes town is also doing really good. Don’t have much time. We got to really drop down on that place to give them a great start.

Well love ya all! Have tons of fun at the cinders!!! Don’t wreck my quad, I might sell it when I get back.
