Hey family!
Thanks for all the birthday stuff! I got all the pictures and the sheet music last week. This week i don’t think we get mail because today is "Day of the Flag."
The weather has gotten so cold all of a sudden here! The only good this is it hasn’t been as windy. Wednesday was a pretty ruff day because we spent a long of time outside in the rainy cold, Saturday night the same. I was scared no one would come to church on Sunday because everything was going to be super muddy after all the rain. But Sunday morning we woke up to everything being frozen. It was way cool!
We did have a miscommunication with a member that was going to help us get some investigators to church. One family we are teaching told us they couldn’t come to church if the weather was bad so Saturday night we called a member to ask if he could pick them up in his van. Well... asking for someone to give a ride in a car I guess is a lot harder than I thought. I asked the Hermano and he said ya he would but would only drive to the bottom of the hill. I told him if he would drive to the next road he wouldn’t have to go up any hills and could get right to the house. He said No, I will only go to the bottom of the hill. I said ok and asked if he had any more room if we brought other investigators and he kinda freaked out and started telling me how he isn’t a taxi and isn’t going to drive all over the city. I was only going to ask if some other investigators could ride with him if they met at the spot he was going to meet the other family at. But I just said ok Hermano thanks I will just tell the family to meet you at the bottom of the hill and if there are any changes I will call you back. There wasn’t any problems so I didn’t have to call him back and because I didn’t call him back he didn’t go in the morning. So the family was outside waiting in the cold and finally just took a taxi. Of course it was my fault from both sides Haha but everything turned out alright in the end.
We did have a full class for gospel principles. It was awesome! A lot of In-active members and investigators came this week and it was great. All the members are always so much better and reverent when there are lots of people they don’t know. I have to give a talk next week.
Another hindering factor this week has been the world cup. The people here are very involved in that and my companion also... Argentina is playing very good I hear which is good and bad. Good because the people are happy and bad because the better the more they win the longer they will be in the finals. The USA is still in. We got robbed of a point though and tied our last game instead of winning.
Our investigator Carlos, the one that just came to the English class one day because the other missionaries invited him, passed his interview yesterday and asked me to baptize him this Saturday! I’m so excited! That was the best birthday present!
Well I think that’s about all for this week. I hope you enjoy the photos. I will try to do a video next week and send it in 2 weeks. Love Ya!
