It’s me again
Hey Fam!
I hope you can see the picture. It’s the only one I could send because of this computer. It’s a picture of all the zone leaders of the mission from our meeting we had on Wednesday in Neuquén.
This week was really good. The only problem is that AGAIN we had no investigators to church!! Every week we have made plans to have more and more people at church, but none have worked out yet. Like our goal for the number of people at church goes up every week but nothing changes. It’s just new for me I guess and I don’t know what to do. It is going to start to change though!
Ever since Elder Aidukaitis has come, there has been a lot more excitement in the mission. There have been lots of improvements and the mission has a lot higher goals. We are really focusing on putting baptismal dates in the first lesson. This week alone 7 investigators accepted to be baptized, pretty cool!
We went to our “promised land” again that we found last week (the little city 15 minutes away) but didn’t have as much success. I guess the Jehovah Witnesses gave their turn and now the people aren’t as receptive any more. They also confused one of our investigators who is catholic. She has now come to the conclusion that all religions are ok so she should just stay with the one she has been in her whole life.
Well that’s about all this week. Oh, we have a catholic lady coming to our english class that’s pretty interested but doesn’t want to receive us missionaries yet. Her friend is working with her. Oh and we also started a new way of getting references from the members. It was suggested by Elder Aidukaitis. We go and ask for every single person that the member family knows and we make a huge list (like 200 names we got from the family we did this week). We then make a nice neat list of all the names and go back to the family and ask the head of the family to pray to receive revelation as to who is the most prepared to receive the gospel from the list. We mark every name that anyone in the family says. Then we ask to family of ways they can share the gospel with those people and write those ideas next to the marked names. Then we just have to verify to see how the family is doing with sharing the gospel with those they chose from their list. I hope that made sense.
Love ya all!!!!
Elder Tryon
