The baby boy!
Hey family!!!
Pictures are of: first, our last conference with Elder Aidukaitis ( I don’t know why I’m so small in the picture). Second, of a lunch we had with other missionaries at a buffet. You might remember Elder Gutierrez from the picture. He is the missionary I trained back in Comodoro. We are in the same zone again, it’s awesome!! The third is of me on a bike!!!! Ya I did divisions with an elder and we borrowed bikes from some members to make a long trip! It was so fun!! I almost forgot what riding a bike is like and for some reason I was just smiling the whole time!! :D Man I wish we had bikes in this mission.
The conference we had was actually pretty dang amazing. Elder Aidukaitis from the seventy really is a special witness of Christ and is so dedicated to this work. He made us feel really bad about how little work we are doing but really got us excited at the same time. I learned a ton! Oh haha and I even got him to throw a notebook at me for one of the questions I asked!
Yesterday at church we had another 70 from the area, Elder Avila, come and talk in our sacrament meeting. Two in one week, so lucky!!! Saturday we were walking around trying to find some new investigators without having any luck all morning. I was really feeling sad when I saw Elder Avila drive by and he waved at us with a big smile. It helped me feel better and really grateful to know that he and Elder Aidukaitis, who are both incredible, are in this same work as me. They are my teammates! Sunday he gave an awesome talk on how we obey God for 3 reasons. First because we fear the punishment, Second and better, because we want the reward, and Third and best, because we love him. It’s the first commandment and when obeyed everything else goes ok. God doesn’t need us to love him but we desperately need to love him. Oh and another quote I heard yesterday in church that comes from President Utchdorf’s talk is "Don’t think less of ourselves but less in ourselves (or something like that in english)
We still didn’t have any investigator in church yesterday. I blame it on summer vacations and it being fruit season and this being a fruit city. I really was so depressed when no one came. It will get better though!
Friday we found the promised land of our area. There is a little small town like 15 minutes away in bus that we went to that hasn’t had missionaries in like 4 years. Oh it was paradise how nice the people treated us and how many listened to us. Never have I been treated like that on the mission. The problem will just be getting them to church, but hey what else is new?
Well that’s about all. Me and my companion are super excited about the work after this last conference. My companion only has three weeks left in the mission but is still working like crazy! It’s awesome! He will be the third companion of mine to finish the mission with me and it’s not easy for any missionary finishing the mission I think. Love ya all!!!!!! But seriously!!!
