La-Monty!
Hey yawl, it’s me again!
This week was actually pretty awesome. We finally had someone at church, 2 people actually. It was a great blessing! A lot of less actives we have been visiting also have started coming. We seem to have more success with them.
Saturday, after not having any success all afternoon, we decided to walk a long ways, to an area where we don’t go often and hadn’t planned to go to. We went to see a “reference’ which wasn’t home. We tried one other old investigator we had out there but also without success. So we decided to start knocking. At the first house, a man comes out and looks at my companion and says, “you look familiar, come in”. So of course we went in. My companion had talked with the man and his son about 6 months ago on the street. The man turned out to be an excommunicated member (he used to be a bishop!) and lived there with his mom. We talked to both for a while and found out that the man had already been thinking about going to church. Also, the mom had dreamed about us coming by (I have to say hearing that someone had dreamed about you coming by is pretty cool!) They also told us that their neighbors were a part member family and the daughter wanted to go to church. So, logically we passed by them next, and in about ten minutes, got to know them, shared a short lesson and invited them to church the next day. Yesterday the man, his mom, and the neighbor’s daughter all showed up together and stayed all three hours. Cool beans!!
Yesterday (Sunday) was also a hard day that ended well. The best part was that at 8:45pm we finally found a family that a member had referred to us. The dad is the only member and they just moved here about a month ago. The dad told us that he already has plans to start going to church. The mom and her two sons don’t know much about the church but are really excited to start, (a really awesome family).
Lots of other cool things happened this week too. Like we found more new investigators this week than any other week that I have had here! Also, there were more people here at church than any other Sunday. My companion just keeps working super hard. This is his last week and it doesn’t even seem to phase him. He helps me a lot!
Got to go but love you all "un monton" (a ton)
