Monson, 2-7-11

Hey everyone!!

¡Hey Familia!

Well the computer today doesn’t recognize my camera, no pictures... sorry.

We had transfers!!! But good news, me and my companion are staying! Every companionship in the zone changed but ours! This means that my companion is going to finish his mission here with me in March. It also gives a better chance for me to stay here till the end of my mission.

In the work not much was done here in our area because we were gone almost the whole week. The biggest and coolest thing was getting to have a zone leader meeting on Thursday in Neuquén (about an hour bus ride away) with a general authority. It was with Elder Aidukaitis from the 70. There is a phrase in spanish which is "drop the cane" which describes what this general authority did. I’ve been trying to think of what the phrase would be in english. The best I came up with is "he really let us have it" or "he gave us a slap in the face." It was a very humbling experience but so awesome!! This guy taught with such power! He really laid it on us. I guess here in our mission we don’t have the most baptisms in South America and he let us know that. He talked a lot about faith. He said it doesn’t take faith to baptize people we already know are going to be baptized. Man I don’t even know how to describe all he said but it was awesome. It has made me change the way I think about where I am in the mission. I was thinking I had gotten the mission routine down and just got to keep going till the end now. Boy was I wrong. I have so much to improve on and hope to be improving more and more till the very end of my mission.

Yesterday at church we almost had nobody attend AGAIN. It’s so hard to get people to go to church here! I hope its just because we on summer vacations here. In the past six weeks we have had 3 people go to church. Horrible! Yesterday we left after the first meeting because none of our investigators had gotten there. We finally got 1 person to come to sacrament meeting. We just have to work harder and have more faith and I know God will bless us with more success.

Oh I wanted to tell you about what we did in the ward talent show but got to go. Maybe next week : )

Love ya all!!!

Elder Tryon
