Guess who!

Hey fam it’s me again.

Pictures are of me and my companion (elder Perez) riding with members to a ward activity, me laughing at my companion because he had to drink that stuff when he was sick, us and the assistants in our apartment, and our zone picture.

This transfer is sure flying by crazy fast. I feel like we have to hurry in everything I do because we have so little time! Me and my companion are doing a little better working together. I’m learning to love the little guy. Yesterday we did our fast together asking for help in finding a new family. Yesterday our prayers were answered (I like it when God blesses us right away!) They are the Mansalve family. Parents and 6 kids. The mom is the only member but hasn’t gone for about 15 years. She was really active when she went though and still has a testimony. The dad is the main focus. He is pretty cool. He believes in God because they had a miracle save their baby that was born 3 months premature. He just wants to know how he can know which of all of the churches he should join (very good question I know). We explained the book of mormon and left them alma 18 and 19 to read and to pray. I have lots of hope for them!

I also wanted to tell you about a cool experience I had this week. At the zone conference our mission president´s wife talk a lot about gratitude (from the prophets conference talk). She challenged us to only give thanks in our nightly personal prayers for 5 days straight. Saturday was day number five and it wasn’t a day to be thankful for. We did lots of walking, little teaching, fasting, and not getting along with my companion. When I knelt down to pray I only wanted to tell God about all my problems and was about to, but remembered that it was day 5 of the gratitude challenge. It was hard at first but eventually I started thinking of all the things of which I was thankful for. Almost finishing the prayer I started thinking of things I thought I really needed to ask God help for but stopped myself and kept giving thanks. In the moment I had a really nice feeling that almost made me cry and I didn’t even know why. It was cool. I’m so thankful God listens to our prayers and I know that gratitude has power.

I love you all so much!!

Elder Tryon
