Guess who! 11-29-10
Hey Family
This week has been pretty ruff. Not because something hard has happened but because we didn’t get to work too much. My companion was still sick most of the week and finally we went to see a doctor. The laxative and the suppositories didn’t make my companion go to the bathroom so the doctor gave him some better stuff. I don’t know what it was but it’s what people take before surgery to clean themselves out. That must have done the trick because my companion has been doing much better ever since.
It has been kind of ruff with my companion though. He is so different than all my other companions. I think we are still just getting used to each other. But as we do contacting or teaching or planning or practically everything, we just do it in different ways. It’s hard but I think we will be a great team once we figure things out.
Last night I almost fainted. Who did I inherit that from? It makes me feel like a sissy! :) A member took us to the hospital to give a blessing to a 21 day old baby that was born only after 5 months of pregnancy. She was so tiny! The baby has been growing a doing good until yesterday something had happened. I’m not exactly sure because Spanish is hard enough for me and when they start talking medical terms I get kinda lost. They were giving her a blood transfusion. I don’t know if it was seeing that transfusion to the tiny baby or if it was because it was really hot and in a small condensed room, but I got so light headed and everything was turning dark and it was hard to breathe. Luckily, thanks to the time I fainted from the blood test, I was a little more prepared this time and sat down and took some deep breaths before I fell over. We couldn’t touch the baby because it was in an incubator so we said a prayer with the parents who aren’t members. Well my companion said the prayer because I couldn’t even stand up. We then taught the parents how to prayer and gave our testimonies. It was a pretty cool experience. I think the baby will be alright.
Yesterday we had stake conference. Elder Avila of the seventy presided. It was really good. My favorite part was just seeing all the members of the stake. I love seeing members of the church come from many parts to hear the word of God. Saturday there was also a priesthood and adult session. It was pretty cool because he did like a lesson two (plan of salvation) but way cool.
Well I’m going to try to send some pictures now. It’s giving me a hard time.
Love you all!!
