Guess Who! September 13, 2010
Family,

These pictures are of our district service project. Painting is very messy!

Alright Alright I will write more. I just want to be like Jason :) Writing a weekly letter can be quite the task though. So many things happen every week and we have to decide whether to tell you every little thing, just the big things, or just whatever we feel like.

This week we had our five baptismal candidates have their interviews and they all past. The only problem in only 3 of the 5 went to church. They had legitimate reasons though. All five will be baptized this Saturday and I am sooooooo EXCITED! two of them asked my companion to baptize them, one asked me, and the other two asked two different hermanos in the wards. I told my companion the only reason they chose him is because he is the innocent companion that only says the happy stuff and that I do all the dirty work haha. Oh and me and my companion and two other elders are going to do a musical number at the baptism. I’m playing the piano and they are singing to Because I Have Been Given Much.

Our zone leaders have come up with a game/competition for all the missionaries in the zone this transfer. You get points for the key indicators. You can also get extra points by doing a district service project. We got one together painting a members house. I learned that I wont ever let missionaries paint my house unsupervised haha. But It finished well in the end.

As missionaries the most common people we run into are Catholics and Evangelicos. A lot of the people are Catholic only because of tradition and the other day I was stumped in a contact with one. He told me I am catholic and I will die Catholic because my whole family is Catholic and if we are all wrong, at least we are all together. I thought wow that’s pretty good.

We did a ward activity with the book of mormon this week. We had all the kids go into a different room from their parents and told the parents they we on an airplane that was about to crash so that had to write their last words on a piece of paper to leave behind for future generations. After they wrote it they left the paper and went to another part of the room to see how the kids would treat their "last words" When we let the kids in they didn’t really care about the papers because we were distracting them with games :) Then we asked how the parents felt about how the kids treated the parents last words. We then related it to the scriptures being the last words written by prophets. It was a pretty fun activity!

Love you all and hope the best.

Elder Tryon
