Hey family! July 12th, 2010

We got transfers! My companions new area is Portland, Oregon with his family! Poor guy... He left yesterday at 4 in the afternoon. I’m with the zone leaders now. I am going to train! I leave Tuesday or Wednesday on the bus (I have heard its between a 12-20hr ride) to Neuquén to pick him up. We will work in my same area here in Comodoro. I won’t know who it is until are the new missionaries and all the trainers get together and the president tells us who goes with who.

The teaching is going good. We have a few families progressing. One is the Ibañez family. The dad was baptized a long time ago but only went for three years. We are the 3rd set of missionaries i think to work with them. The other day we watched a movie with them and afterward the dad really criticized the movie and made me feel really bad because I love the movie. It was such a bad spirit after that I was thinking we would never come back. It was so sad because I love the family so much the dad just has the strangest doubts. We went back anyways a while later and had a good really good lesson with them. After the lesson the dad apologized to us. He said after we had left that he felt really bad and couldn’t sleep all night. He said the only think he could think about was the book of Mormon.

We are also teaching another part member family, the Peña Family. I am teaching the 13 year old daughter piano and boy she learns fast! She also has come to 2 English classes and 2 mutual activities. One of the two activities was last Saturday. Our recent convert Carlos taught the young men how to make pizza. Me and my companion brought 4 other kids to the activity. They were a little shy so we started off with some ping pong. Then the kids started interacting and some were playing the piano. So we had pizza ping pong and piano (3 p´s!) then the young women got to the church for their mutual but the leader didn’t come because it was raining and muddy outside. So we had the Peña daughter and a couple of the other young women with us and we were all playing ping pong and eating pizza. It was great! We taught them the around the world ping pong game so that they all could play and I think everyone had a great time.

To help with our gossip problem we went and talked to the bishop. We have been doing family home evenings with lots of the families in the ward that the bishop suggested we could visit. It's been going great. I’m going to read into those scriptures you sent me dad and see if I can apply those also. Love you all! Keep up the good work!
