Dear Family!
I sent a CD with a bunch of pictures today. I didn’t have time to go through the pictures so there might be some dumb ones. I’m attaching more pictures to this email. With the new email we use, we can attach pictures while we write so I can send them every week! Let me know if it works good for you!
Thank you mom for the stories from Jimmy and Tanner. Tell tanner he needs to tell me more stories from his mission because I don’t know any! And Garrett and Tyler for that matter. Did Tyler get discriminated in Honk Kong for being from the states?
I was glad I got to talk to Rachelle and Jeannette and almost Spencer. Parley is the one that killed me though! He knows my name! That means he is being taught well.
This week has been pretty tough and full of experiences. Pretty tough because we have been losing progress on lots of investigators and haven’t been able to find any new investigators. We did divisions and our district leader came and worked with me in our area and we didn’t even teach a single lesson, just got rejected all day long. The Bulgarian family, who are the ones that had the twin boy die, now aren’t receiving persecution from outside but are having problems inside the family. Last week we had a lesson with them and two members went with us. When we got there, the dad hadn’t arrived and the mom told us she was pregnant and that the dad didn’t even know yet (this is the good part of the story.) Then the dad got home and was way happy when he heard the news and said he had a surprise too. He told us that he had gone by the "registro civil" (the government papers place) and had picked up the papers to get married and then even get baptized. The mom started crying she was so happy because he is the one that had been holding them back. We were so happy! Sunday morning we called them and they told us they were getting ready for church but they never showed up. Tuesday we talked with the dad and he told us they had an argument Saturday night and it ended with them not wanting to get married or baptized :( It’s so sad. I think they will still come around though just need some more time.
Our English class is doing pretty good. I bring little candies to give as rewards to those that answer questions and really try. With the wrappers I am folding them into a chain (like me and mom used to do with gum wrappers) and am going to spell ENGLISH.
Our 9 year old investigator had her interview yesterday and is really excited to get baptized this Saturday. Her dad even came to church yesterday and stayed all 3 hours! He has been less-active for about 4 years.
This coming Friday we have our activity that we planned. We our going to do some short skits. We had assigned the young women to make invitations and the relief society is in charge of the food. I’m excited for it!
Friday night we did divisions with our ward missionary and ward mission leader. The ward missionary went with me and as we were heading back to the church we ran into a man that he knew and the man said he has been having lots of problems lately and wanted us to come by. We came by on Saturday and he told us how he had gotten in an accident on his motorcycle. Then he brought us into his room and told us he can’t sleep in there anymore because there are evil spirits. We did a blessing for his house and also gave him and his daughter a blessing.
Thanks for all the support family! Love you all!
Elder Tryon
