Mi Familia

Yup it’s true, the day finally came and at 3:30 I get on a bus for 14 hours and my new area will be Maxima Abasalo, Comodoro. It is much more south in the Chubut provenance right next to the ocean. I hear it’s very very windy and no green anywhere. My new companion will be Elder Suárez, I don’t know where he is from. I’m really excited but also a little sad to go because well, I love it here!

This last week was absolutely amazing. We had 9 investigators at church yesterday! Two families and 2 others and then Rubén the recent convert brought 2 relative so 11. That’s the most we have had and it was a lot of work because it was the first time for a lot of them but it went amazing. Heavenly Father really helped us that because every happened just perfect. 8 of the 9 stayed all three hours. The testimonies were all amazing, then the gospel principles class was awesome and then priesthood was amazing! The members were all so excited too and nice and welcoming!

We have 7 baptismal dates scheduled for the next transfer now and I’m so excited for all of them. We put 4 with one family that I have been telling you about, his name is Eduardo Sepulvara. He has been wanting to get baptized but his wife wasn’t too excited about the getting married thing, but that all changed this Friday. Friday is usually our best day, I don’t know why but it always fills up with appointments first and this Friday was the same. But not like normal, all of our good investigators dogged us (is that how you say it in English?) Even in our English class only two people showed up. So we did a lot of walking and street contacting until 8:00 and we went to our appointment with Eduardo. We were going to have it in a member’s house but when we got there no one was home so we thought aaahhhh great just to finish the day off great. So we left and were walking down the street when the two member boys came running and told us to go to Eduardo’s house because the member was over there. So we did and it was the first time we had a lesson with both parents and the two daughters. So we started talking about faith and repentance working up towards baptism and we were asking them what changes they have seen in their dad and it was amazing the stuff they told us that he has changed! He never drinks anymore and he comes home on the weekends and spends time with them and is there for dinner now and even helps with the food. I was truly amazed. We told them that those are signs of faith and repentance and that he now wants to get baptized but has to get married. They then told us they talked about it last night and want to get married in the beginning of April and asked us to be the two witnesses. I think our answer translated into English was a Heck Yes! So we pulled out the calendar and they get married the 9th and baptized the 10th. It was an amazing lesson, my favorite part was how happy everyone was the whole time!

Another investigator we put a baptismal date with was a girl named Tatiana. She is 19 and her cousins from the other ward gave us the reference and we have been teaching her together with her cousins. We put the baptismal date the second visit and she seemed kind of nervous but on the 3rd visit she was so happy. She told us she had read to 1 Nephi 11 and had prayed and never felt so happy. She said she had looked into a lot of other churches and never felt right. I love it!! This morning I read a scripture that went along with all these sweet experiences we had this week in 2 Nephi 26:13. And it’s so true!!!! Every person that we have asked to read and pray and has done it has received a miracle!!!

Another lady we have been teaching (the one we found with the Adventists, not sure If I told you that whole story or if that was in the email that had an error) named Yoana said that she had been really stressed during the week but on Sunday found herself alone and said a prayer and just started reading from the Book of Mormon and all her stress and bad feelings went away. The next lesson her mom was there and is was awesome because she bore her testimony (without knowing it hehe) on the Book of Mormon to her mom.

This whole week was amazing. I feel like we hardly did any teaching but were just there watching the miracles. It was a good way to end my time in the area and I know it’s going to keep progressing. Maybe someday I’ll get to come back and see all the progress.

I got to go now. Dad you are amazing! I don’t make you look good, I’m just trying to live up to your standards! I love you!
