Dear Family!

I like my new area! It seems pretty dead now and nobody wants to listen but that will change! We had stake conference this week so I didn’t get to meet too many of the members and see how the Ward is. My new companion, Elder Suárez is from Buenos Aires and no he is not tall haha probably like 5, 7 or 5, 9. This is his second to last transfer though so he will probably finish here with me. That could be good or bad. When I found out who my companion was, all the other elders only had bad stuff to say about him but I love the guy! He cracks me up all day long and he is a great teacher and knows a lot. He just doesn’t like to keep all the rules and needs to be motivated to work but he is pretty sweet.

There are 300,000 people here in Comodoro which is big city for our mission. My area is the poor part of this city. I have been told it’s the most or 2nd most dangerous area in the mission. There are a few places we can’t go to tract and even more places we can’t go to as it gets darker. We are right next to the ocean but everything is desert. Everything in concrete. And worse of all is the wind. It really stinks! It’s impossible to walk and watch where you are going. The first couple of days were good but Saturday was awful and our pension filled with sand haha we have lots of cleaning to do today.

The bus ride wasn’t bad. I slept pretty well because it wasn’t too packed and I could spread out. It was only 14 hours long which isn’t too bad for this mission. We had some pretty cool lessons this week. We taught family Zapana that is from Peru. They have been being taught before but one of our lessons this week they are came and listened. It was sweet because there are a lot of them. We were like preaching to a congregation haha! The Only problem is they all live in the same house but none are married, we will have to work on that.

We also went to Evangelico church yesterday! Some guy invited us, so we went. There were only 4 other people in the church. They sang and played loud music and prayed really loud and it was pretty fun! I was really impressed with the piano player because he did a whole band on his two electric pianos and he sang really well. Afterwards though, he and the preacher came and talked to us. They were really nice at first and I told him he had a very nice talent but it didn’t take long for them to start telling us why our church was wrong. We didn’t even bring up our church. They told us they knew all about us already. They had been shown a movie on the mormons in their church and what goes on in the temple and also know people that have been high leaders in our church. It made me sad all the garbage their church has said about us. It reminded me of 2 Nephi 14:9-13. Especially the part in 13 that says they all gather to fight against the Lamb of god. I will have to tell you more next time because I got to go. Love you all! I don’t have time to read emails from Aunt Esther, so that would be great if you could mail them to me! Also if you have more than one letter to send me it would be cheaper to send it as a regular letter paying the out of country cost rather than sending it in the pouch mail. Just send it to the package address which is the mission address. Also I’m still waiting for the memory card so I can send you pictures.
