¡Mi Familia!

Mom thank you very much for those scriptures! I know that I receive help from many people on my mission in many different forms. I have felt it very strong! Thank you so much for your prayers and letters! Rachelle I wasn’t able to read your letter this week because this particular computer cant open the attachment, maybe next week. Its already time for prom? Make sure you take care of the quads Rachelle, I mean who is going to supervise you?

We have had a really amazing week! I will start with the 7th day Adventists. I thought the first lesson we had with them ended bad but our second one ended worse. We found them last Friday by accident. We were walking down the road and from inside the house they thought we were someone else and got our attention and waved to us so we went and talked to them and they agreed to let us in but said we wouldn’t have anything to teach them. That was last Friday when my companion bible bashed them about the Sabbath day not being the 7th day (he knows the bible pretty good). So we had set up an appointment to go back this Monday. My companion had studied everything the whole weekend he could, I just studied the book of mormon because I really had no idea about that whole 7th day thing, and I read Jacob 4 which I think might have been written for them haha. But once Monday came around and it was getting time to go to them my companion really started getting nervous and said he just didn’t want to go. It didn’t really matter to me so we tried a bunch of other people but no one was home so we came to the conclusion to go but my companion was so nervous he said I would have to do all the talking. So we got there and they were waiting for us... haha they each had their bible and had a whole sheet of scriptures to use against us. My companion said he felt sick as soon as we walked in. So we sat down and they kinda all just starred at us so I went over what we had taught last time and then taught the great apostasy and restoration then they just came at me saying how God the Father and Christ are the same person. I didn’t understand everything they were saying or know any scriptures from the bible to use to prove them otherwise so I did what I do best in Spanish and bore my testimony and kept teaching and when I taught about the book of mormon they came at me more about how I shouldn’t be a missionary if I don’t know the bible and we should only use the bible when we teach. So I just told them we are not here to teach about the bible which they said made them very sad and asked us to leave so we left with a prayer and the quiet Lady that was investigating the Adventist church was crying when we finished which I thought was weird but didn’t think much of it. But we left and thought we would never be going back, we even told ourselves to make plans not to go in that part of the neighborhood. Then a few days later guess who we ran into in the street. The quiet lady. We were on divisions that day so I was with a new elder that knows less Spanish than me and he didn’t know the story. But she asks us when we were coming by again, which really confused me, we already made it part of our plans not to ever go back there again. She told us that the Adventists wouldn’t be there and her friends also wanted to hear (I thought they were all already Adventists), so we sent up an appointment for Friday and went back and taught lesson one this time using many scriptures from the book of mormon and it was awesome! They have already started reading and had us over for lunch Saturday where we taught the Plan of Salvation. Then they came to church yesterday!

On Wednesday for our divisions I was with Elder Peterson who is from Utah and really having a hard time. But we had an awesome day! We found a family of 5 and it was so awesome teaching lesson one with him! The family seemed so excited and the mom was dieing to read from the book of mormon! There were a few times that day that neither of us quite exactly knew what was going on but we had an amazing time.

Also our recent convert Ruben is sharing the gospel with everyone! haha I love him. He has already given away two books of mormon and recently he got 3 family members to come to church who we are going to start teaching on Wednesday. Mom, if there is anyone we have helped that I knew before, it would be him. Was he was getting ready for his baptism I think I felt something I have never felt before. I love the mission but its hard! Keep praying please! Love you all!
