¡¡Familia!!
Oh man this week has been awesome!!! Dad you were right. We did lots of service this week. We didn´t even come close to our contacting goal, which I don´t know if that’s good or not. But I sure loved it! We have been helping a guy build his brick house (so my back is pretty sore) during the week. He invited us over for a bbq yesterday and we ended up getting to teach his family, and the families of both his brothers that are helping him build his house too! It was so awesome! We were all huddled in a little 10x10 temporary house and the spirit was so strong! Another single mom with three kids we found chopping wood, so I chopped wood while my companion taught. We have taught her the first and second lesson that way this week and we have another appointment for Wednesday. Another family we found is from Bolivia. I don´t know if all families from Bolivia are as cool as them but this family is awesome!! We taught them the first lesson and gave them a book of mormon and told them to read 3 nephi 11. They did but said there was stuff they didn´t understand so we watched the testaments with them yesterday and oh man was that powerful! I have that movie memorized in English so that helped me a lot but by the end the wife was crying. There is nothing happier!!!!! After the lesson they asked if they could invite their friends over to listen too!! AHH! Also this week Hilda and Carlos (our other awesome investigators) expressed to us their desire to be baptized. Haha we didn´t even have to ask him. They are working really hard on getting everything straightened out so they can get married! And we have taught so many other awesome lessons this week too! We have a goal of getting 6 baptisms this week. I have also spent every second I can practicing the piano. I think Im going to start playing next week. That’s a little scary but im excited! I also want to share with you some answers to prayers I received through the book of mormon. My first question was how people can seem to be so happy when they don´t have the gospel, or dislike mormons very strongly. I got my answer when I read 2 Nephi 27:3-5. especially in verse three when it talked about a hungery and thirsty man that are still hungry and thirsty after drinking. It hit me pretty hard. I also asked how people could read from the book of mormon and not believe it. I got that answer in verses 14-18, in verse 16 it talks about how they read to get gain and glory of the world. Verses 13,19,20, and 26 really hit me because it talked about those that would receive the book or mormon, and its exactly what I have been seeing here in Argentina! I also asked why there were so many churches and other people that honestly believed their church was true and how are we suppose to know which is the true church and how to get others to know also. That answer came in 2 Nephi 28:3-4,26,31 a cross reference of 1 cor. 2:4-5 and later on in Jacob 4:13. All of Jacob 4 was really strong for me! I felt the same way as Jacob, when I got to the end of the chapter “because of my over anxiety” verse 18. but in v. 13 it talks about how we receive answers from the spirit and then we have the words of the prophets to witness also. Its like we get a double dose of surety. In versus 14,15 and then 8&10 I learned one of the ways people fall away from the church. Man I wish I could share all my awesome experiences I get from studying the scriptures daily!!! I don’t know what I like better. Studying in the morning or teaching people. AHH I just love missionary work!! And I love you Mom and Dad! Im going to try and print your advice dad, so I can read it during the week.
Love ya!!!
