It’s the missionary boy!
January 17th, 2011
Hey fam!!
This week I don’t think I will be able to send any pictures either because this computer isn’t recognizing my camera.
I finally could watch the Christmas video! It was great, thanks so much! Garrett has 6 months to practice the ripstick and then the competition begins! Haha I laughed when Rachelle opened her gift that was in spanish and everyone was trying to read it. haha Gringos!!
So I go home July 27th? Now that we got that established we don’t have to talk anymore about how much time I have left. I feel like I really am just barely learning all the parts about being a missionary. Now I can finally just put them all to practice and actually get some work done instead of making so many mistakes. Most of the mission, I feel like we are just trying to figure out what is going on. Tanner told me that now, in the mission, is when I start making the habits that I will have for the rest of my life. I hope to make good ones!
This is a really good area. We are working like crazy but not having too much success... yet. I think it’s due to the summer vacations that everyone is on down here. (But really, people come up with excuses all day everyday to not listen to us.) My companion, I would say, is my companion with the most desires to serve. It’s so awesome! I have never had a companion push me to work hard and it’s great! It’s also weird because he only has one more transfer in the mission and he still just keeps working. Completely different than all the other “almost finishing missionaries” I have met. I hope I’m his companion till he finishes and I hope I finish like him.
As far as lessons, we really didn’t have any in our area because no one is home! We did do divisions twice this week though, with the district leaders of the zone and those were great. On Friday we did it with the elders in the area Villa Regina which is about an hour bus ride from here. I worked the day over there and it was cool because we took another bus to work in another little city that is close by that doesn’t have the church or any active members. It felt like we were opening a new area because missionaries hadn’t been there for so long. The people were actually nice to us! We taught a lot because everyone let us in! Even the kids on the streets were asking us who we were.
Hope everyone has a great week! Love ya!!
Elder Tryon
