MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! December 20th, 2010

Hey fam!!!

Let me know if you can see the pics, there are 6 in total. First of me buying a 4 hotdog long hotdog. Me and my companion with the giant penguin. My well used socks. Us at the fishing port. Us at the beach. Eating ice cream with some other missionaries.

Sooo.... Whose ready for Christmas!!! I have the lyrics from the "It’s the most wonderful time of the year song" in my head! I’m really looking forward to talking to everyone. Don’t make fun of me though if a few spanish words escape.

So we were buying gifts for a family today that we think needs a little help this Christmas just like you said mom. Well, as we were doing that, the most unlikely thing in the whole world happened. We were at the checkout desk and the lady was wrapping our presents for us when I got a tap on the back. We almost never see members on our P-day but it just so happened that the mom of the family we were buying for, just happens to run into us. I have never seen the lady in any place but her house and church before! I hope she didn’t make the connection. I also hope my white face and stumbling of words didn’t give it away either (but that’s common for a gringo right?). I don’t think she is expecting anything but we will see after we make the delivery and see them again after Christmas. I guess I haven’t learned to be quite as sneaky as you mom...

This week went pretty good. Me and my companion are still pretty opposite of each other but getting through. He has gotten all better with his health but still finds some sort of excuse to not work. I would like to say he is getting better though. Transfers come next week and we are probably staying together. I have lots of hope for us for the next transfer.

As far as investigators we haven’t been finding too many new ones. The whole week we only found one. He is freakin awesome though. His name is Sijilfredo (ya pretty sweet I know) and he is from Venezuela. We have only taught him once but it was so good it has made me wished I had gotten called to serve in Venezuela. My companion told me that Gringo missionaries aren’t aloud into that country because of the government, so if he gets baptized I will be one of the few gringos to baptize someone from there.

Our other main investigators are the Pencóff and Medina family. Each are a part member family. The medina family has to get married and stop drinking and smoking. We got the smoking stopped for a while but started back up again. We made the goal with them to be married on February 18th. I hope I’m here for their wedding! The Pencóff family has to stop smoking and go to church. We helped them stop smoking completely and we made the goal together with them to start going to church at the start of the new year. There is nothing more I want to see than these two families become complete in the gospel!

I did divisions with an elder in our zone named Elder Nieto this week. It was really cool because he is a convert of about a year and a half. Being with him made me so excited so see how someone could change their life like that and have such a strong testimony already. Oh and another bonus was that he played Dota on the computer before the mission. That automatically made him way cool!!

Well love ya´ll. Talk to ya on Saturday!! I’m calling from the church around 2:30pm Gringo time :)
