Well hello family!
Pictures are of our ward service project and the baptism of Macarena.
Heck Yes the baptism was awesome! My second time getting in the water on the mission and it’s still just as cool. This baptism was a lot smaller but all the young women went to support Macarena and even they had cake afterwards which is always a bonus :D I played “I never stand alone” on the piano as a musical number and only messed up a couple times.
We had to go like an hour early to the baptism to clean up a bunch of broken glass because somebody had thrown rocks and broke a lot of the windows. It’s a pretty good talent they have to be able to throw the rocks and get them through the bars and hard enough that it breaks the window. All windows that are broken are replaced with a clear plastic. I would say about half the windows of our building are plastic now.
Our service Project was I guess a church wide thing? We cleaned up a public school close by the church and I guess we were doing a good job because the city building on the other side of the street asked us to come and clean a bit when we finished :)
One of our new investigators is a lady named Celeste. She is part of a "Banda" (I don’t know what it is in English.) It’s some type of old religion that came from Africa with the slaves. I guess in this religion you talk with spirits and let them into your body and they help you with things. She told us it’s not anything super strange or satanic like lots of people say but that’s exactly the first thing that came to my mind! I don’t know.
I can’t believe it’s already time for General Conference again. So sweet! Here, the only place you can watch it at is at the stake center. The problem is the priesthood session starts at 9:00 at night, so we won’t see it, at least not that night.
Yesterday we did a Tsunami in one of the areas here in Comodoro. Its where all the missionaries of the zone (there were 18 of us) all go to one companionship’s area and go searching for new investigators. It’s pretty cool. Me and my companion found a couple. It was fun and on the bus ride home we all sang on the bus.
I think I will get only one more time to talk with the Adventists before I leave (that’s if I’m getting transferred). On Tuesday they came to our church and we just happened to be finishing a meeting with our ward mission leader. It was funny because they picked us up and drove us to their house so we could help their daughter with some homework she had to do about thanksgiving. That is one holiday the people definitely miss out on down here.
Love you all!!!!
