Hola Familia
I’m staying!! my trainer too! He is going to be here for at least 6 months. I’m so excited! I love this area! It has changed so much since I have got here and we have so much to do now! The members are awesome too!
We had our Family Home Evening with the branch and it was so much fun. One of our investigators came and really got befriended by the members. We watched a movie about how Parley P. Pratt (I think it was him) found the gospel on the projector of an Hermano in our branch then we a couple of the members shared their testimonies of how they found the gospel. Its so crazy their stories! The church really hasn’t been around that long down here and sometimes its easy to tell that, but the testimonies are very strong! Then we taught then how to play signs (game where you sit in a circle and everyone picks a sign and someone in the middle tries to guess who has the sign.) It was so fun! and hilarious. My companion also taught us another game that they all loved too. So it really turned out great.
We also found someone this week named Rubén in a contact in the street. He said he would love to have us come by. Contacts like that are very rare. We have taught him the 1st and 2nd lesson already this week and he says he wants to get baptized when he receives an answer. He told us a experience a while back he had when the Stake center was being built in central Bariloche. He had walked by and stopped and felt a feeling that he couldn’t describe. Like he should go in but didn’t. Then missionaries contacted him not too long after and he said he would like to listen to them but he never saw them again. He also told us a story when we were teaching him the plan of salvation about how he saw his parents and brother (who had already died) while he was in a coma one time. He said he believes he saw them and not the rest of his family who are still alive because they are waiting in the spirit prison. He is so cool!
We also ran into another guy that is a Jehovah Witness that said he would get baptized if we could prove to him that Jehovah is Christ haha. I have no idea about that so I don’t know. But there are a ton of Jehovah Witnesses and Evangelists (I don’t know what it is in english evangelics?). One of those two or Catholics but usually just by tradition. But religion is a very big topic in this area. I feel like Joseph Smith sometimes amidst all the confusion. Most of the time people just want to argue which I know we shouldn’t do. I don’t think I could anyways because I can’t talk very fast haha.
Oh and we also finally put a baptismal date on our investigator se llama Maxi. He has been an investigator for a long time (many missionaries) but has to get married. I finally just asked him to be baptized and said a date. He pushed the date farther back a ways (February 27th!!) but said maybe we could move it sooner if they can get married sooner.
Our other investigators Hilda and Carlos finalize his previous divorce papers so they can get married and baptized Por Fin!
Things really are going great down here. God has really been blessing us lately. I have big hopes for this transfer =) Love you all and your letters. Keep up the good work! And I’m really excited to talk on Christmas even if it is only for 40 minutes!!
