Familia¡¡¡
Oh man it was so good to hear from you all on Christmas!! I miss you all! So now I have to work even harder to not miss you so much :) It does make me feel better that I didn’t miss much haha except the basketball. But Torey is Pregnant!! Ahh when is the due date?? Rachelle I hope you do better with your online class than I did with my Spanish one (it’s easy to procrastinate hehe) That really was a cool story about the Jewish guy being baptized. I’m trying to picture what it was like but I just can’t. There is a Jewish church in our area, but I have only talked to one Jew. I would really like to teach someone from a different church or someone that is really religious. All of our investigators have been non-religious. I guess it’s easier that way. There are many religious people here though, many Evangelists and Jehovah Witnesses. One Jehovah Witness told us he would be baptized if we could prove to him that Christ is Jehovah not God haha. Dad thanks again for your advice :) I look forward to it every week! The boys I am teaching piano are already showing the other boys what they know, it’s pretty awesome because more come to me to show me stuff or ask me questions.
Not too much has happened since I last talked, but we have found a couple of new people and we do have my first baptism scheduled for the 9th of January. It’s the 11 year old cousin of a less active family we have been working with. Her name is Giselle (kinda like Rachelle) and she is awesome!
We did have a pretty awesome Christmas though. Here what they do is eat lots and lots of meat. Sheep is the tradition, if you can afford it, for Christmas and/or New Years. We had a big BBQ on Thursday with the 20 missionaries in our zone. We then went to the stake center and played basketball (definitely not a common Argentina game haha) but then we all went and sang. After that we had 6 other elders come over to our apartment. We were allowed to stay up till 12:30 and sleep in till 8:00! It was kinda weird haha but fun. We played a bunch of games and ate donuts that me and my companion made with a member. Then at 12:00 is when the fireworks started. Not too many lights but a lot of loud explosions around the whole city until about 1:00 in the morning (made it difficult trying to sleep) Oh and all 8 of us elders only had 4 mattresses so we made kind of a square out of the mattresses (it took up our whole apartment pretty much) and then found a spot to sleep. The next day we visited families had another BBQ and got to call. I had a pretty bad headache that night, I think from eating so much meat. Christmas here really isn’t celebrated. Just the BBQ´s and fireworks during the night and lots and lots of drinking. Always drinking...
It has been a great Christmas :) I think reading the Christmas stories you all sent me has made this Christmas my favorite. I love you!
